Overview

This is a supremely cute and stylish beachfront villa in enviable location (prime Thalpe) close to Galle.

From a private and gated parking area and neatly landscaped rear garden, you enter the villa through an arched doorway that draws you down an almost Alice-in-Wonderland-style corridor - uniquely styled with aquamarine arches - to quintessentially sparkling views of the ocean, glinting about the reef in front of the house.

The two bedrooms sit opposite each other at the rear (away from the beach) side of the house. Each is as attentively styled as the rest of the property, with pink polished cement floors and in-built rattan-doored storage. Two ensuite bathrooms are equally well conceived and finished - skylights looking in over the rain showers in each.

The main living space looks towards the front garden and beach beyond. A neatly designed kitchen is in open plan with a dining area and comfortable sitting room, all immaculately finished and maintained. The garden space is carefully landscaped with a small lawn that runs to sand and palm trees before the beach proper.

Thalpe villas are not all known for their access to comfortably swimmable sea but this one opens to a gorgeous protected rock pool that probably more than compensates for a (current) lack of swimming pool within the garden.

Thalpe has long had the reputation of being home tothe smartest of beach villas on Sri Lanka’s coast; proximity to Galle Fort (about a 15 minute drive) and its idyllic palm-fringed beaches attracting investors keen to build for some time.

Hype has perhaps moved a little further down the coast in recent times but the fundamental attractions of Thalpe remain the same - lovely beaches, restaurants and bars in and around Galle, beautiful, secluded spots a little inland, easy access to the highway and from there Colombo and the airport.
A little East of Galle, Thalpe sits on the South Western corner of Sri Lanka.

It’s now quite comfortably reached within two hours from Colombo; journey times to the International Airport (just north of Colombo) about the same.

Good schools and hospitals at Galle - as well as bars, restaurants and boutique hotels, as mentioned - are within 15 minutes drive.
We would imagine most owners will look to rent the property when not using themselves.

It currently operates under a management agreement with a very well established villa management company. Quite recently finished it hasn’t yet completed one full season in full operation but we’d expect it to achieve good occupancy. It currently rents between USD 250-300 per night.
