Overview

Close to Galle, on Sri Lanka’s South Coast, this beautifully designed oceanfront apartment sits on what’s often referred to as The Golden Mile, a marker of how prized the beachfront land is here. From the vantage point of this high-floor spot it’s immediately obvious why it’s so sought-after.

The building was completed, in large part, in late 2022 and has recently come under the management of the international brand Radisson Hotels as part of The Radisson Collection.

The setup and lifestyle offered here is something quite new in Sri Lanka - high quality (well) serviced apartments in a prime beachfront location - but is a very welcome addition.

The main central space of the apartment is a very smartly finished kitchen with dining space that runs, in open-plan style, to a living area the opens to a wide terrace overlooking the ocean. A powder room splits the kitchen and living space slightly from the entrance.

The Master Bedroom, with ensuite bathroom (with bath and shower), sits to one side and has separate access meaning it can be split, and used entirely separately, from the rest of the apartment.

Two further bedrooms sit to the other side and share a generous bathroom with bathtub and shower.

Each bedroom has direct balcony access and views that look across the ocean and, in the case of the two smaller bedrooms, the jungle inland.
Talpe, as said, has long had the reputation of being one of the very prime stretches of Southern Sri Lankan coastline.

Pristine coral-flecked beaches, proximity to Galle and, now, ease of access to Colombo and the International Airport have afforded that.

Where some spots further along the coast have changed quite unrecognisably in the last 4-5 years, Talpe has evolved less dramatically and retains its sense of being on the smart side of Sri Lanka’s villa and beachfront scene.
